Kelly Clarkson stated that she does not plan to start new relationships nearly a year after the death of her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. In an interview with the podcast «Las Culturistas» on September 30, she explained that her children are the main reason she does not want to date anyone. «It would shake their world a little bit, and honestly, I love my life right now», - Clarkson noted.
Clarkson and Blackstock were married from 2013 to 2020 and have two children: 12-year-old daughter River Rose and 10-year-old son Remington. After finalizing their divorce in 2022, Blackstock passed away in 2025 after battling cancer. Clarkson emphasized that after his death, she focused on raising her children.
«I'm not tired of all this», - she added, noting that being in a relationship requires a willingness to sacrifice one’s time, which she does not want. According to her, life with her children right now is «really good»: «We have fun, we cook, we play games».
In 2023, Clarkson moved to New York to start a new life with her children. She remarked that it is a «great city for raising kids» as they can be exposed to different cultures. Clarkson also shared about international trips with her children, including visits to Shanghai and Beijing, where they saw the Great Wall.
