Kelly Clarkson has found herself in a conflict with a home goods store in Brooklyn. Over the weekend, she stated that during her visit to the Art of Play store, she was «treated like a character from the movie 'Pretty Woman'», - hinting at biased treatment from the staff.
On October 10, Clarkson wrote on X that she drove to Brooklyn to visit a store that seemed interesting to her and intended to make a purchase. However, according to her, she was met with skepticism and was told they could find something similar. «Wow, dude. You’re an idiot and just lost a big sale», - she noted.
In response, the owners of Art of Play defended their employees, while Clarkson continued to assert that her service experience was negative. On October 11, she wrote again on X that she supports small businesses, but that does not give them the right to treat customers poorly. «It's not that hard to be kind. I never criticize people, but you, my friend, are the exception. Your store is really cool. Unfortunately, you are not», - she added.
The conflict attracted the attention of internet users, and some companies and individuals responded to the situation with humor. Comedian Matt Rogers shared a screenshot of Art of Play on Google Maps with Clarkson’s song «Never Again» playing in the background. Other users also expressed support for Clarkson, sharing their similar stories and commenting on the situation.
