The Art of Play store in Brooklyn, which found itself at the center of controversy over alleged mistreatment of Kelly Clarkson, published a message that can be seen as a response to her accusations.
Several hours after Clarkson tweeted about her negative experience at the store, Art of Play shared on Instagram Stories a review from another customer who praised the staff for their «genuine kindness». The review stated that the customer felt welcomed and was pleasantly surprised by the unique finds in the store.
Earlier that same day, Kelly Clarkson reported that she encountered negative treatment from the staff at Art of Play while shopping. She wrote that she was looked at as if she could not afford purchases and was suggested to find something «comparable». Clarkson called the staff member an «idiot» who missed out on «a huge sale», - adding that others might visit the store if they enjoy feeling like the character from the movie «Pretty Woman».
Clarkson also mentioned that she moved to New York with her children in 2023 as part of changes to her daytime talk show, which ended in August, winning 24 Daytime Emmy Awards over seven seasons.
