The Art of Play boutique in Brooklyn, New York, responded to Kelly Clarkson’s allegations of inappropriate treatment by a salesperson. On its Instagram account, the store reposted positive customer reviews that highlighted the friendliness of its staff.
Clarkson, 44, previously reported that she encountered an unpleasant situation in the store when a salesperson, according to her, looked at her as if she could not afford purchases and suggested finding something more affordable. In her tweet, she wrote: «I just drove all the way to Brooklyn to visit this store that I thought looked really cool. I had a few things in mind, and I was literally looked at like I couldn’t afford it». She added that everyone should visit Art of Play if they want to experience being a character in the movie «Pretty Woman».
After her statement, the store’s employees did not comment on the incident; however, that same day, positive reviews about the store and its workers were posted on Instagram. One customer wrote that from the first visit to Art of Play, he felt welcomed and received genuine kindness.
