Kelly Clarkson recounted an unpleasant incident at a store in Brooklyn that reminded her of a scene from the movie «Pretty Woman». In her post on X from October 10, the singer claims that when she entered the Art of Play store, the salesperson looked at her as if she couldn’t afford to make a purchase.
Clarkson noted that the salesperson promised to find something «comparable» to her wish list, implying that she lacked sufficient funds. In response, she wrote, «You're an idiot and just missed a huge sale». The Art of Play store, which specializes in home goods such as puzzles and games, has not yet commented on Clarkson’s allegations.
In her post, the singer also advised other store visitors to be prepared for similar treatment, adding that they should check out Art of Play if they enjoy being treated like Julia Roberts' character from «Pretty Woman».
Clarkson, who moved to New York in 2023 with her two children, did not elaborate on the incident but has previously mentioned that her children are coping well with the loss of their father.
