Football fans are not the only ones who will be watching the Super Bowl in 2025 on Sunday, February 9th. Anyone who appreciates good commercials, and those who are looking forward to the annual musical show during the Super Bowl halftime, will undoubtedly be watching rapper Kendrick Lamar’s performance.
«Rap music remains the most influential genre to this day», - Kendrick said in a statement dedicated to his upcoming performance. «And I will be there to remind the world why. They chose the right one».
He recently also explained why he sees rap as an «art». «It brings culture to the forefront, where it should be, and is not just about a catchy song or line», - he said to Apple Music during a press conference before the Super Bowl halftime on February 6th, according to ABC News. «It's real art. So to represent it on such a stage is everything I’ve worked for and everything I believe in terms of culture».
The Grammy winner also admitted that he was surprised when he was chosen to perform at the iconic Super Bowl halftime show, previously headlined by legends including Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Usher, among many others. «I never thought about the Super Bowl», - he said when asked if he ever thought it was possible. «The passion I have now is still the same as it was then, and I think it translated to the Super Bowl». SZA will be a special guest during the show.
