Recently, Rhys won two Emmy Awards but did not thank Keri in his speeches, which raised questions among fans. Russell explained that it was her decision. She noted that Matthew was very nervous when accepting the awards for his roles in the series «Widow's Bay» and «The Beast in Me». Keri shared that a few days before the ceremony, she asked him what worried him the most, and he replied that it was the need to give a speech. She suggested that he shouldn’t worry about thanking her, as she knows he loves her.
Keri also mentioned that people still criticize Rhys for not thanking her in his speech at the 2018 Emmys when he won for the series «The Americans». She believes that everyone has the right to thank whoever they want and added that their relationship is private.
Additionally, Russell confirmed that she does not plan to get married again, explaining that she has already been married and does not feel the need to formalize the relationship again. She emphasized that it is important for her to have her partner by her side and that she and Rhys have a long-term connection because of their children.
