Kevin Costner is recovering after his divorce: «Life has been amazing»

Kevin Costner is moving forward after the completion of his public divorce with Christine Baumgartner. In a new interview with PEOPLE, the «Yellowstone» actor refers to his ex-wife as a «good partner [and] good mother», - as he adjusts to his new reality as a single man.
«We just couldn’t make it work», - said Kevin, 69, in the interview published on Wednesday, June 19. «All I can say is that I’ve had an amazing life. I’ve had bumps, but I’ve had an amazing life, and I’m grateful for it».
After 18 years of marriage, Kevin and Christina, 50, filed for divorce in May 2023. They finalized their property division in February. The former spouses currently share custody of Kevin’s three younger children: Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14.
«Just keep doing it», - he said, navigating his new life. «Just keep talking, keep guiding [the children], keep being interested in what they’re interested in».
However, the new family status may also lead to new rumors. Earlier this year, the actor sparked rumors of a romance with Jewel after they were invited to a private island by Sir Richard Branson.
Speaking with Howard Stern, Kevin assured fans that they are just friends. «We've never dated», - he said on Tuesday, June 18, in an episode of The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM. «She's special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship, because that’s what we have».
According to Kevin, he met the «Foolish Games» singer when they were traveling to Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands and visited a tennis charity event for Jewel’s «Inspiring Children» foundation. «I got on a plane with nine people — Jewel was one of them», - he explained. «There was Emma Watson, and seven other people who weren’t celebrities».
«We have a friendship», - Kevin continued. «There's no romance. We’ve never dated. She’s beautiful and smart for all these things. It just didn’t happen for us».
