Kate Middleton remains focused on her health after receiving a cancer diagnosis. While some royal observers hope for updates on the Princess of Wales, those close to Kate are sharing information about her condition.
«It is not expected that the princess will return to work», - a Kensington Palace representative shared in a statement to the BBC on Tuesday, May 21, «until her medical team gives permission».
The update came with the launch of a new report from the Early Childhood Center of the Royal Family Foundation, an organization founded by Kate in 2021, which focuses on awareness and actions for the transformative impact of early childhood.
According to the palace, «Early childhood will continue to be at the center of her public work».
Back in March, Kate revealed in a video message that she had been diagnosed with cancer. While the news was a «huge shock» to her family, the princess is trying to recover privately.
«In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at that time it was believed that my condition was not cancerous», - she said. «The surgery was successful, however, tests after the surgery showed the presence of cancer. My medical team therefore advised me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am currently at the early stages of this treatment».
Kate, who is raising Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, with Prince William, added that she is «getting stronger every day, focusing on things that will help me recover in mind, body, and spirit».
For Christian Guy, the executive director of the Early Childhood Center of the Royal Family Foundation, he is grateful for Kate’s support during her difficult diagnosis.
Before the report was released, Christian gave insight into Kate’s passion for this issue.
«After briefing the princess on this matter, she is extremely grateful to the Working Group members who have achieved such fantastic progress in this work over the past year», - Christian said. «She is passionate about the transformative impact of the right approach to this issue, for both the current generation and many future generations. I know she is eager to support all companies, regardless of their size or purpose, to join us on this journey and looks forward to increasing momentum in the coming months»
