The company Stryker, a medical device manufacturer based in Michigan, confirmed that it was the target of a cyberattack on March 11, 2026. According to several sources, hackers affiliated with Iran claimed responsibility for the incident amid the ongoing conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel.

«Stryker is experiencing global disruptions to our Microsoft network as a result of the cyberattack», - the company explained in its statement. «We have no indications of ransomware or malware, and we believe the incident is contained. Our teams are working to understand the impact of the attack on our systems. Stryker has business continuity measures in place to continue supporting our customers and partners. We are committed to transparency and will keep stakeholders informed as we receive new information».

Stryker produces a wide range of medical equipment, including defibrillators, ambulance stretchers, and other vital devices for patient care.

During a cyberattack, various technical failures can occur. In this case, Stryker employees discovered that remote devices running on the Windows operating system and configured for use within the company were wiped, The Wall Street Journal reports. Among the affected devices were mobile phones and laptops.

Stryker did not identify a potential culprit for the cyberattack; however, several sources indicated that the incident was carried out by hackers supporting Iran.

According to Reuters, a company representative declined to comment on who might be responsible for the cyberattack. Calls to Stryker’s global headquarters in Portage, Michigan, went unanswered, with only a recording stating that there was «an emergency situation in the building».

According to CNN, the hacker group that is allegedly responsible for the attack claimed that the breach of Stryker was a response to a missile strike that hit an elementary school in Iran. The Pentagon is investigating the incident
