The cocktail «Honey Deuce» — the legendary official cocktail of the US Open — once again captured the hearts of fans this year.

Since 2006, visitors to the Grand Slam in New York, held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, have quenched their thirst with a tournament signature cocktail, whose name playfully hints at the fruit «honeydew melon» and the tennis score «deuce».

With greater respect for the sport, the drink, made with Grey Goose vodka, lemonade, and raspberry liqueur, is garnished with three honeydew melon balls cut to resemble mini tennis balls.

«Mini honeydew melons resembling tennis balls attract attention and, therefore, imagination», - said the drink’s creator, Nick Mautone, to Vogue magazine in 2021. «Visually, it’s fun to drink at a tennis match».

The glass is engraved with all the US Open champions among men and women since 1968, making it a memorable souvenir for fans.

«We come here for this», - said game visitor Trudy Potter about the glasses last year, speaking with The New York Times.

Just last year, the famous tournament cocktail brought in nearly $ 10 million, with 450,000 «Deuces» poured at the US Open in 2023 — more than the total $ 7.2 million won by the men’s and women’s tournament winners.

This amount is not surprising, considering that the cocktail cost a whopping $ 22 last year, which has now increased to $ 23. According to Morning Brew, this is the sixth price increase for the drink since 2012, when it cost a relatively modest $ 14.

But if a visit to Flushing Queens is not in your plans this year, and you still want to enjoy something refreshing, you can make a Honey Deuce at home, thanks to Grey Goose.
