Colin Jost shares some qualities that initially made him fall in love with Scarlett Johansson, the mother of their son Cosmo and her daughter Rose.
The «Saturday Night Live» star, 42-year-old Jost, opened up to The New York Times about his love for the «Avengers» actress, 39, in an interview from Saturday, July 13. «I think part of the reason I fell in love with her is because she’s a great mom», - the comedian said.
«I've known Rose, my stepdaughter, since she was 2 years old. It’s weird. You can really pre-judge someone as a mom», - Jost told the publication.
The couple, who started dating in 2017 and got married in October 2020, are raising their son Cosmo, 2, and co-parenting Rose, 9, whom the actress shares with her ex-husband, Romain Dauriac. Johansson dated Dauriac, 43, starting in 2013, and married the French journalist in 2014. The former couple welcomed their only child together in August 2014 before announcing their divorce in January 2017.
While the «Black Widow» star is usually more private about her personal life, especially regarding her daughter, Johansson has often publicly praised her husband, who always reciprocates.
Scarlett admitted that one of the reasons she found him attractive was that, unlike some of her past relationships, he wasn’t intimidated by her success, and they don’t compete with each other.
Jost described how surprised he was «by how normal things she does» as one of the highest-grossing actresses of all time.
«She goes to the supermarket. She wears a hat very well and doesn’t stand still. She’s able to stay a little under the radar, but at the same time does all these everyday things and enjoys them», - he said.
