Collin Gosselin revealed that his decision to participate in the show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test was motivated not only by a desire to prove to his mother, Kate Gosselin, that he is capable of more. In an exclusive interview with Us, he noted that he initially wanted to «prove to mom that she was wrong» about his childhood, but ultimately this journey became a personal challenge for him.
Kate Gosselin was the first celebrity eliminated from the competition in 2023 for medical reasons in the first episode. Now, as the fifth season begins, Collin intends to complete more tasks than his mother. He emphasized that during his time on the show, he learned a lot and grew as a person, and his motivation became not only his own ambitions but also the desire to inspire other children facing difficulties.
Collin, who grew up in the public eye thanks to the show Jon & Kate Plus 8, later moved in with his father and began speaking about alleged abuse from his mother. In his upcoming memoir titled In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, he plans to share his story of «truth, survival, resilience, and finding his voice after many years of silence».
During the filming of Special Forces, Collin noted that he was able to form strong bonds with other participants, which helped him continue the fight. He also expressed doubts about his father, Jon Gosselin, participating in the show, noting that he is not interested in undergoing such challenging trials. The fifth season of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test premieres on Fox on September 24 at 9:00 PM Eastern Time.
