Collin Gosselin, a participant in the reality show «Jon & Kate Plus 8», - admitted that he hasn’t communicated with many of his siblings for so long that he can’t remember their faces or voices. In an interview with Us, he shared that he often thinks about sending them a message to check in on how they are doing, but he finds it «much harder».
Collin, who is promoting his autobiography «In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving My Childhood Reality», - noted that he and his siblings «don't know each other» because they didn’t grow up together. He confessed that he can’t recall what they looked or sounded like, and he is unaware of their interests and hobbies.
Collin and his six siblings—Hannah, Aaden, Joel, Leah, and Alexis, as well as older twins Mady and Cara—became known through the show, which aired from 2007 to 2017. At the age of 12, Collin was placed in a psychiatric hospital, where he spent two years. He claims that his mother Kate sent him there permanently so he couldn’t speak about her alleged abuse. Kate has denied these allegations, stating that Collin was placed in the facility due to dangerous behavior.
After leaving the hospital, Collin moved in with his father, who gained sole custody of him. His sister Hannah also chose to live with Jon, while the other siblings remained with Kate. Collin noted that the more he talks about his relationship with his mother, the more he can «indirectly separate himself from his siblings», - as they love her and have the right to do so.
Collin Gosselin’s autobiography «In the Shadow of Eight» is now available for reading.
