Krispy Kreme wants people to enjoy the Labor Day weekend with a sweet treat.
From August 29th to Monday, September 2nd, the chain is offering customers a special deal for the three-day weekend: a dozen original Glazed donuts for $ 2 when purchasing any dozen donuts at regular price. The deal is only valid in stores and at drive-thrus, limited to two dozens in-store and at drive-thrus, and one dozen through the app, according to the company’s press release.
The offer is part of Krispy Kreme’s «Go for 2» campaign, encouraging football fans to «score extra points with family and friends over the Labor Day weekend» as they enjoy the first week of college football season.
Earlier this month, Krispy Kreme partnered with Dr Pepper for the first time to introduce a new donut collection to help fans kick off the football season: the Krispy Kreme x Dr Pepper Kickoff collection.
For a limited time, the collection «captures the refreshing experience of Dr Pepper’s iconic 23 original flavors», - the company reported.
The football-focused menu includes three new treats:
«Two of America’s favorite flavors come together in one amazing sensational treat for game day, making the start of football season the sweetest», - said Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s Chief Marketing Officer, in a press release on Thursday. «This Dr Pepper collection is a must-have addition to your game day lineup, no matter who you’re rooting for».
According to Delish, one taste tester said: «The donut definitely has more of a cherry taste. The glaze had a spicy 'kick' like Dr Pepper and even left a similar aftertaste… Even if you don’t like Dr Pepper, you might like this donut».
The collection can be purchased in-store and picked up at participating locations or ordered for delivery through the Krispy Kreme app and website. Customers can also get an individual half-dozen box at select stores
