Kristen Bell recalls how she met her husband Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell recalls her love story with Dax Shepard, traveling down memory lane. While participating in the podcast «Where Everybody Knows Your Name with Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson (Sometimes)» on SiriusXM on June 19, the actress remembered the moment she met her husband at a sushi day in honor of producer Sean Robertson’s birthday in 2007.
«He has a presence», - Kristen, 43, recalled about Dax, 49. «He is protective and has very broad shoulders. He’s like an upside-down triangle, but my main impression was that he was talkative».
Their connection didn’t really form until they met again at a hockey game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Detroit Red Wings. Kristen was going to the event hoping to talk to her recently divorced friend Michael. But, as it turned out, the actress started talking to his friend Dax.
«I knew Michael and thought, 'Okay, we’re both single again. We haven’t been single in many years. This will be great. I’ll go and flirt with Michael,'» Kristen recalled. «Michael was onto something else and talking to someone else, and Dax came up to me and I said, 'Oh, you were at Sean’s dinner,' and he said, 'Yes, I vaguely remember you.'»
Although the conversation was great, it was only when they started joking around that Kristen realized Dax was interested in her.
«I was chewing gum and he said, 'Do you have more gum?' and I said, 'No, just this one,' and I slyly took it out of my mouth, and he took it from me», - Kristen remembered. «He said, 'I'll take it,' and then put it in his mouth, and I thought, 'This guy wants me.'»
The couple got married in October 2013 in a simple courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills. They now have two daughters — Lincoln, 11, and Delta, 9.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2018, Kristen shared some advice for other couples hoping for strong and successful relationships.
«Be happy for what makes the other person happy and allow them to maintain their individual interests», - she wrote on Instagram. «Know that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have»
