Criticism of Katy Perry’s song «Woman's World» due to the choice of Dr. Luke

In her new single «Woman's World», - Katy Perry encourages female empowerment, but fans of the singer are already criticizing the song because the 39-year-old artist chose Dr. Luke — former producer of Kesha, with whom she had a legal battle — to revive the music video.

Despite teasing the single for a couple of weeks, the «California girl» released the song on Thursday, July 11, along with a music video that premiered on Friday, July 12.
The video shows hardworking women on a construction site, and Katy appears as Rosie the Riveter in her denim jumpsuit — she has two outfit changes: a bikini with an American flag and a white swimsuit with seemingly bionic legs — and her red bandana. Later in the video, she wakes up after being hit by an anchor in a very destroyed world, where fans see a cameo from internet star Trisha Paytas.
Online users believe that the involvement of 50-year-old Dr. Luke in this song is not a good representation of female empowerment. Lukasz Gottwald, known as Dr. Luke, was accused by the «TikTok» hitmaker of drugging and raping her. Their legal dispute lasted for years until they reached an agreement last year. «Only God knows what happened that night… As I have always said, I cannot remember everything that happened. I look forward to closing this chapter in my life and starting a new one. I wish peace to all parties involved in this», - Kesha said in a statement published in June 2023.
The producer then denied the allegations again and stated: «While I am grateful to Kesha for acknowledging again that she cannot remember what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened.
