If you are in Southern California, please pay attention to weather reports and follow any recommendations from emergency services».

As the situation develops, people across the United States — and the rest of California — want updates. Find out where the fires are and other details below.

Currently, there are four fires in Southern California, according to the Cal Fire website. There are several others throughout the state. The four fires in Los Angeles County — the Palisades fire, the Eaton fire, the Herst fire, and the Woodley fire.

The Palisades fire broke out in Pacific Palisades around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7. Within a few hours, the entire community was evacuated. Some people abandoned their cars on the road because the air quickly filled with smoke, and the flames engulfed the city.

Later that same day, fires broke out in Eaton and Herst. The Eaton fire affected residents of Pasadena and Altadena, while the Herst fire burned over 500 acres in San Fernando.

The Woodley fire broke out above Pacific Palisades. Although it is a smaller fire, it still poses a threat to residents due to massive smoke plumes filling the air.

At the moment, the Palisades fire is not under control. Additionally, according to CBS News, at the time of publication, two fatalities had been reported. Firefighters are still battling to extinguish all fires due to extremely strong winds that Los Angeles, reportedly, has not experienced in about ten years
