Neither Jimmy Kimmel nor John Mulaney will host the Oscars next year. According to multiple sources, both the TV host and comedian declined the opportunity to host the Academy Awards ceremony on March 2, 2025.
Jimmy Kimmel, 56, star of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, has hosted the Oscars four times during his career. He has also hosted the Emmy Awards three times. As for John, 41, he hosted the Governors Awards ceremony in January 2024 and performed at the Oscars ceremony. According to Deadline, John waited for Jimmy to decline hosting the ceremony again before also declining. The publication reported that Jimmy had made his decision «some time ago».
