Lala Kent bids farewell to the eleventh season of «Vanderpump Rules» with a variety of emotions. After the conclusion of the three-part special episode, 33-year-old Lala reflected on her experience filming the show.
«The eleventh season of 'Vanderpump Rules' has officially ended. It’s bittersweet. Filming this season was bittersweet», - she said in an episode of her podcast «Give Them Lala» on Wednesday, May 29. «Going through it was — in my opinion — one of the most difficult moments or difficult seasons I’ve had. It was harder than filming the season when my father passed away».
Usually, Lala uses her podcast to discuss the show, but this season she took a different approach after seeing comments on social media criticizing her role as a mother. (She is raising her three-year-old daughter Ocean with ex Randall Emmett.)
«I don’t show Ocean on the show. I am very protective of motherhood and Ocean and our bond», - Lala explained, holding back tears. «She is a very, very special child and will always have the most sacred place in my heart because of what we went through together when she was seven months old».
In October 2021, Lala and Randall called off their engagement. After the split, Randall expressed a desire for their child not to be filmed for Bravo.
«Originally, not being able to show her on the show was not my choice», - Lala clarified. «Both parents have to agree to have the child appear on television, and the other side was against it. And I felt that was okay because I could keep this part of my life so close to my heart».
She continued: «Then I see that this season people are really attacking me as a mother. About things they know absolutely nothing about. I felt it was unfair».
Online comments, Lala said, led her to «a very, very dark place».
Today, the reality star is expecting her second child after undergoing intrauterine insemination (IUI) using donor sperm. With the summer break in the show, Lala wants to remind listeners that she is grateful for all the opportunities that «Vanderpump Rules» has provided for her family. She is also grateful to viewers who do not always agree with what Lala says.
«I love doing this show. I can provide a beautiful life not only for myself but for my family, and that’s thanks to you», - she said. «Even if we didn’t always see eye to eye this season, know that you enjoyed the eleventh season and know that I am very grateful to you».
