Lauren Sanchez is the winner of an Emmy Award and the longtime girlfriend of Amazon founder and former CEO Jeff Bezos. She is set to receive a promotion to the latter title, as Page Six reported that Jeff proposed to his longtime girlfriend. Lauren and Jeff are engaged and reportedly planning to marry in December 2024 in an expensive wedding.

There may be a question of whether Jeff and Lauren will become the first couple to get married in space. Lauren told the Wall Street Journal on January 25, 2023, that Jeff’s space company, Blue Origin, plans to send an all-female crew to space in 2024, with her as the leader. Just a few months prior, in November 2022, she told CNN that she plans to go to space in 2023 — two years after her partner first left Earth’s atmosphere.

Lauren, 55, not only shares an interest in space with the 60-year-old entrepreneur. They are both passionate about climate change and both raise families. So who is Lauren, the woman who wears many hats? Read on to learn about Jeff Bezos' future wife.

Lauren, Jeff, and Jeff’s ex-wife MacKenzie, who lived together for 25 years, were friends for many years before Jeff and Lauren’s relationship became public knowledge (which happened on the same day Jeff and MacKenzie announced their divorce). Jeff and MacKenzie’s divorce was finalized in April 2019, while Lauren’s divorce from Patrick Whitesell was completed in October of the same year. According to PEOPLE, Jeff was also quite friendly with Patrick and was even photographed with him and Lauren shortly before Jeff announced the divorce. «Patrick and Lauren were together and apart for some time. [Patrick] knew they were dating», - a source told the publication.

In her conversation with The Wall Street Journal, Lauren admired how she and Jeff love doing everything together in life. «We love being together and working together. We fly together. We work out together. We’re together all the time», - she said.

She also praised some of her favorite qualities of Jeff, who at the time of writing this article is among the top five richest people in the world. «He's really funny. He makes me laugh all the time. He can be silly», - she noted. She later revealed their special Sunday morning ritual: Jeff wakes up early and makes «the best pancakes in the world».

Originally from New Mexico, the journalist began her professional career as an entertainment news reporter in Los Angeles for Fox News, according to IMDb. She then transitioned to sports broadcasting in 1996 and notably hosted the first season of So You Think You Can Dance in 2005. She also worked as an entertainment reporter on Extra and hosted Fox’s Good Day LA from 2011 to 2017. Her on-camera career also landed her several hosting roles in movies and TV shows over the years, although she also played various different characters.

Despite her enviable career, Lauren said that her biggest disappointment was in 1999 when she failed to secure a co-hosting position on The View. «It was one of the most devastating days of my life», - she told The Wall Street Journal. «Ultimately, it turned out to be a good thing because I wouldn’t have Nikko», - she added, referring to her firstborn.

However, before the rejection from The View, Lauren experienced another heart-wrenching rejection. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to become a flight attendant at Southwest Airlines, claiming she was fired in 1989 because she was too heavy. «They used to weigh us, and I weighed 121 pounds», - she recalled. «They said, 'You need to be 115'».

After her dreams of working at Southwest were shattered, she enrolled in courses at El Camino College in Torrance, California. According to the school’s website, Lauren had a different name when studying for her degree: Wendy.

As mentioned, Lauren gave birth to her first son, Nikko, shortly after being rejected by Southwest
