Lena Dunham and her husband Luis Felber celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary after becoming parents for the first time. Dunham shared her feelings on Instagram on September 24, noting that despite her reputation as a «unreliable narrator of love», - she decided to marry Felber.
In her post, she wrote: «He turned out to be a wonderful husband, a great father, and an incredibly talented hair accessory curator. Don’t throw it all away for a miracle». Dunham and Felber, both 40, married in 2021 and recently became parents, using a surrogate. The couple has not revealed their daughter’s name.
In an essay for Vogue published earlier this month, Dunham spoke about her first words to her daughter: «Hi. I’m your mom. You don’t look anything like what I thought, but you are exactly who you’re supposed to be». She also noted that she did not feel «jealous» about not being able to carry a child, despite her previous fertility issues and a hysterectomy in 2017.
Dunham was present with the surrogate during the birth, waiting for her child to arrive. «I was sitting on a hospital bed, between the legs of a woman I didn’t know a year ago, waiting to see the person I had been patiently waiting for, but also without it», - she recalls.
