The showrunners of «Mid-Century Modern», - David Cohen, Max Mutchnik, and Jimmy Burrows, reacted to Levin’s sudden death by releasing a statement saying, «Working with Linda was one of the brightest moments of our careers. She was a brilliant actress, singer, musician, and warm rocket humorist. But, more importantly, she was a beautiful soul. Deep, joyful, generous, and loving. She made our days better. The entire staff and crew will miss her endlessly. We are better for having known her».

A representative of the late Broadway star told Deadline that Levin passed away from complications caused by lung cancer.

As her PR agent noted, Levin’s lung cancer diagnosis was recent, so it is unclear how long she lived with the disease.

Levin was married three times and found love in her third husband, Steve Bakunas. They married in 2005, and Levin became a stepmother to his children.

Before marrying Bakunas, Levin was married to her second husband, Kip Niven, from 1982 to 1992. The former spouses met on the set of «Alice». Niven passed away in 2019.

Prior to her marriage to Niven, Levin was married to her first husband, Ron Leibman, from 1969 to 1981. Like Niven, Leibman passed away in 2019.

Levin did not have any biological children, but she was a stepmother to Bakunas' children.

Levin’s most popular role was in the sitcom «Alice», - in which she starred from 1976 to 1985. After that, she appeared in several TV shows, including «Room for Two», - «Conrad Bloom», - «Sean Saves the World», - «9JKL», - and «B Positive».
