Linda McMahon may take a place in Donald Trump’s cabinet. The President-elect nominated McMahon for the position of the new Secretary of Education of the United States, as he announced on November 19, 2024. In a statement, Trump stated that McMahon «will use her years of leadership experience and deep understanding of both education and business to support the next generation of American students and workers, and make America number one in education in the world».
Trump then stated that his cabinet «will bring education BACK TO THE STATES, and Linda will lead this effort».

Linda and her husband, Vince McMahon, founded what is now known as World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. The company was originally known as Titan Sports, Inc. Linda served as president and CEO of WWE from 1980 to 2009, when she left to pursue a political career.
In 2009, Linda officially began her political career by running for the position of senator. She ran as a Republican for the state of Connecticut. The following year, she lost the election to Democrat Richard Blumenthal. In 2012, Linda became the Republican candidate for another Senate seat in the state, but lost to Democrat Chris Murphy.
Trump and Linda have already worked together. After he became president in 2016, Trump appointed Linda as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Three years later, McMahon left this position in Trump’s cabinet to help in his re-election campaign.
Linda became the chair of a super PAC focused on Trump, known as America First Action.
According to Forbes, Linda and Vince have donated millions of dollars to the Donald Trump Fund.
Throughout her career, Linda has been an active supporter of many non-profit organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is also a well-known name at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, where she was previously a member of the board of trustees.
