Lindsey Vonn was involved in an accident during her final run just days before the 2026 Olympic Games. As spectators watched her clutching her knee in pain, many began to doubt whether she would be able to compete.

Below is an update on Lindsey’s chances at the 2026 Olympics.

On January 30, 2026, Lindsey lost control during her run and fell. Visibility on the slopes that day was low, and she got tangled in the protective nets on the descent. After receiving medical attention, Lindsey was able to get up but continued to hold her knee as she descended the mountain.

«Today I fell during a run in Switzerland and injured my left knee», - Lindsey wrote in an Instagram update for her fans. «I am discussing the situation with doctors and my team and will continue to undergo further examinations».

She called it «a very difficult outcome a week before the Olympics… but if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s come back».

«My Olympic dream is not over», - Lindsey insisted. «Thank you for all the love and support. I will provide more information as it becomes available. I am grateful to all the medical staff who helped me today. I appreciate all the incredible assistance I received».

No, Lindsey is not out of the Olympics. Her personal coach, Chris Knight, stated that she is «preparing» for the Olympic Games, also known as Milano-Cortina 2026.

«No, she is not racing today, but she is preparing for Cortina, as usual», - Chris wrote in a text message to the Associated Press.

Lindsey’s injury still seems to be an issue, as she missed the race on January 31.

«Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the race today… I wish all my teammates a great performance», - the Olympian wrote in an Instagram post that day. «Thank you for all the love and support I have received. It means a lot to me. I am doing everything I can right now…»
