Yes, Lindsey confirmed that she tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) as a result of the accident. In her Instagram statement on January 30, she wrote: «I fell today during the run in Switzerland and injured my left knee. I am discussing the situation with doctors and my team and will continue to undergo further examinations. This is a very difficult outcome a week before the Olympics… but if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s come back».

Lindsey reassured her fans that she was not going to give up on her dream of returning to the Olympics.

«My Olympic dream is not over yet», - she insisted in her Instagram post. «Thank you for all the love and support. I will provide more information as it comes. Thank you to all the medical staff who helped me today. I am grateful for all the incredible assistance I received».

By early February, she was preparing for the Olympic competitions, even sharing videos of her training despite her ACL injury. In the caption, she promised: «I will not give up».

Unfortunately, less than ten days after her injury before the games, Lindsey fell again during the women’s downhill final on February 8, likely ending her participation in the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina.
