Luke Combs: family is more important than career. How the singer missed the birth of his son because of a tour

Luke Combs puts his family above everything, including his career. During a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the 32-year-old country singer detailed a difficult moment that happened to him during a tour — his absence at the birth of his son Bo, whom he shares with his wife Nicole Hocking.
«I will never forget the craziest day, probably in my life, one of the best and one of the worst days of my life at the same time, interesting, and so hard to realize. I wake up in the morning, I’m in Sydney, Australia, in a hotel, and we are on tour in Australia».
Luke continued to recall the whole day, noting that he received a message from his wife saying, «I'm sorry, I really tried not to give birth while you were away».
Struggling with tears, the father of two — who also shares son Tex with Nicole — noted that it was «very difficult» to realize all of this at the time.
«It was bad because he was born on August 15 in the USA. I was able to see him being born, which was amazing», - Luke added, apparently referring to the video call he had with his wife. «He wasn’t born yet, but my wife went, she texted me on the way to the hospital, and he was born two and a half weeks earlier than planned, and I had to be home, but I wasn’t… It was very difficult and I didn’t tell anyone about it».
Fortunately, Nicole’s mother was there to help her, for which Luke noted that he is «very grateful». However, this memory became a «defining moment» for the singer of «Beautiful Crazy» because it «largely describes the downside of the music business — the departure and crazy schedule and constant travel around the world».
As this memory is difficult, Luke noted that he «didn't touch on it too much in this album, because it’s very difficult for me to deal with»
