Lupita Nyong’o talked about meeting hot wings and Taylor Swift

Actress Lupita Nyong’o appeared in a new episode of the show Hot Ones on the First We Feast channel and experienced a real adrenaline rush, trying spicy wings that continue to challenge every guest.
The 41-year-old Kenyan-Mexican actress touched on various topics: filming with cats (despite her fear of them), how she would fare in an apocalypse, mentioning her name in a Jay-Z and Taylor Swift song.
The Oscar winner shared how when she was working on the film «Little Monsters» and producers couldn’t get the rights to use a Swift song, she took matters into her own hands.
«When they came and said we couldn’t get the rights, I decided to take a step, I told Taylor what this song meant to me, and told the story of how it helped me overcome depression, and the next thing I knew, the rights were obtained».
She also explained: «When I was working in London on Star Wars, I had a lot of doubts because it was the second thing I had done. I started sinking into depression. My best friend came to London, and Taylor had just released 'Shake It Off', and he played it to cheer me up, and we just jumped on the bed and danced, and it lifted my spirits».
In the end, everything worked out! The song was used in the horror-comedy film in 2019. Nyong’o publicly expressed her gratitude on camera — a gesture she had already made during an interview with ET at the film’s premiere in 2019.
«I haven’t heard from her personally, but when I found out we got the song, I knew she heard me, and I was so grateful», - Nyong’o said, before turning to the ET cameras to express her gratitude directly to the singer: «Taylor Swift, thank you so much. I hope you watch the movie and feel that I cared about your song»
