Madonna celebrated her daughter Lourdes Leon’s 30th birthday by posting a heartfelt message on Instagram. The celebration took place on October 14, and the singer shared rare photos and videos that spanned Lourdes' childhood and her current age.
In her message, Madonna wrote: «Happy birthday, my Lolita! You came to me in a dream. If I tried to write it all down, I would cry». She also recalled the dramatic circumstances surrounding her daughter’s birth, noting that after 18 hours of labor, she underwent an emergency cesarean section.
Madonna emphasized their special bond, writing: «Our connection is a biblical story. When I ask God to explain it, He tells me: look in the mirror! We are two sides of the same coin». In conclusion, she wished Lourdes to never forget who she is and where she came from.
Lourdes, born in 1996 to Madonna’s former partner Carlos Leon, is the eldest of the singer’s six children. This year, Madonna also collaborated with Lourdes on the album Confessions II, which was released in July and topped the Billboard 200 chart.
