UFC strawweight champion Mackenzie Dern has shared her future plans, including the possibility of transitioning to WWE after her mixed martial arts career. In an interview with Us, she expressed her enthusiasm for trying professional wrestling, especially after she leaves the octagon.
On the red carpet at UFC 331 in Los Angeles on September 19, Dern said, «Oh, yes, that would be fun. So much fun». She also mentioned the Bella sisters, who became pioneers in the women’s WWE division, starting their careers in 2008.
Before considering professional wrestling, Dern expressed a desire to have an exhibition match with Ronda Rousey, adding that although Rousey is significantly larger, it would be amazing. Rousey, who primarily competed in bantamweight, fought Gina Carano this year in featherweight.
Outside the ring, Dern is the mother of seven-year-old daughter Moa, whom she raises with her ex-husband Wesley Santos. She emphasized that motherhood has become her main motivation and hopes that her experience in MMA will help her daughter in the future. However, Dern does not want Moa to become a fighter, preferring that she could be involved in sports, for example, as a journalist.
