Mariska Hargitay recalled the beginning of her relationship with Peter Hermann, speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Gotham TV Awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 4. «My knees are weak… It’s so amazing, it’s so amazing», - shared the 60-year-old actress, talking about their first meeting.

With almost 25 years of marriage — they got married in 2004 — they have three children: August, Amaya, and Andrew.

Adding to her list of achievements, the actress from the series «Law & Order: Special Victims Unit» also noted 25 years of playing Olivia Benson. «It was incredible. It’s been 25 years, and I couldn’t realize it until this year. I think, because of this anniversary… I was going to a wrap party with my 17-year-old son, and I remember thinking, 'We're going to a wrap party for my TV show that’s been on for 25 years.' I don’t feel like I’m finishing, and that’s good», - said the actress.

Being a 90s series with 25 seasons — also featuring Ice-T, Stephanie March, Peter Scanavino, and others — it became a huge hit. «I am so proud of the stories we have told, the lives we have touched, and how we have shifted the needle towards healing… I am privileged, and I know it, and I am grateful for it», - she expressed.

Mariska added: «It was incredible. It’s been 25 years, and I couldn’t realize it until this year. I think, because of this anniversary».

During her time playing a police detective, ironically, she faced a situation where Olivia and her maternal skills had to come into play. She recalled a moment when she helped a young girl find her mother. «It was so natural and normal. It wasn’t really an Olivia moment. It was a little girl who couldn’t find her mom, and there was nothing more important than that — nothing… It was so natural and easy, and didn’t require much thought. It was instinct. It was just maternal instincts… This little angelic girl needed help, and we connected, and I felt it. So I did what any mother on this planet would do. I hugged her mom and her, and it was beautiful», - Mariska said about the moment earlier this year
