Famous YouTube creator and director Markiplier (real name: Mark Fischbach) has announced the release of his debut film «Iron Lung» in early 2026, and dedicated fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival in theaters. However, Markiplier plans to showcase his film in independent theaters, at least for the first weekend. So where exactly can audiences see «Iron Lung» after its release?

After decades of decay and ruined infrastructure, the Iron Consolidation made a discovery on a barren moon designated as AT-5. An ocean of blood».
«In hopes of discovering desperately needed resources, they immediately launch an expedition», - the synopsis continues. «A submarine is constructed, and a convict is sealed inside. Due to the pressure and depth of the ocean, the front viewport has been encased in metal. If the expedition is successful, they will gain freedom. If not, another will follow. This will be the 13th expedition».
Markiplier hinted to Variety that «Iron Lung» has set a world record «for the amount of blood in a horror film. Or in any film, for that matter».
The premiere of «Iron Lung» is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
Markiplier is distributing the film himself and working with independent theaters across the country, according to Variety. The director intends to show his film in 50−100 independent theaters from January 30 to February 1, 2026.
«They said it shouldn’t be done. Not that it was impossible; people have made films before, it just would be 'extremely unwise' - to write, direct, act in, and edit a film all by yourself», - Markiplier told Variety. «I proved them wrong. My bathroom may now be a render farm, but I can’t wait for people to see the blood, sweat, tears, and of course, blood that everyone involved has put into this film».
Tickets for «Iron Lung» went on sale in December 2025, and the film’s premiere took place in Los Angeles at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown.
Markiplier has not yet announced plans for the film’s release on streaming platforms. It took him over two years to bring his film to theaters after wrapping up filming in April 2023.
