Marvel Studios has announced the actors for the new Fantastic Four: First Steps

Everyone is excited about the new «Fantastic Four: First Steps». After years of fan castings and rumors, Marvel announced the actors who will play the roles of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm in a Valentine’s Day 2024 message.
This will not be the first time these «Fantastic Four» characters appear on the big screen. Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, and Michael Chiklis starred in the 2005 film and its sequel in 2007. Chris then went on to play Steve Rogers/Captain America and helped shape the MCU into what it is today.
The reboot with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell was released in 2015. Unfortunately, the film turned out to be a box office failure. The rights to the «Fantastic Four» characters returned to Marvel Studios when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019.

Jeff Snyder reported in August 2023 that Vanessa and Joseph were being «considered» for the roles of siblings Sue and Johnny Storm. Vanessa had just finished her role as the White Widow in «Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One». She notably played Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of «The Crown». She was nominated for an Oscar for her role in «Pieces of a Woman».
Pedro Pascal had long been discussed for the role of Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards, according to Deadline. In the months leading up to the announcement, the schedule was «still being discussed», - but negotiations were «heading in the right direction» for the star of «The Last of Us» to take on the coveted role of the «Fantastic Four». The actor is currently filming the second season of «The Last of Us».

Marvel wanted a «bigger name» and turned to Jake Gyllenhaal for the role, but he demanded «too much money». Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige was concerned that the cast was «too white» and sought to diversify the cast with the role of Mr. Fantastic.
