The highest number of complaints was around 6:00 AM Eastern Time, then reports of outages decreased throughout the day. However, many customers still complained by 3:00 PM Eastern Time that their Reddit accounts were still glitching.
«I just wanted to edit a comment, and now I can literally do nothing except send messages to people», - commented one person on Downdetector. Another person added, writing: «Phew, Reddit is not working. My images on my posts say they are deleted».
A third user went further and commented: «While AWS is not working, we are all in a difficult situation».
Reddit seems to have been down for most of the day on October 20, 2025 due to a widespread AWS outage. Since Reddit did not publicly point to an issue with AWS, it is unclear what exactly caused the apparent issues reported by users.
