Matt Gaetz: The House Ethics Committee report may be published Matt Gaetz: The House Ethics Committee report may be published
Matt Gaetz may still receive the report from the House Ethics Committee. Although initially the decision was made not to disclose the report, the House agreed in early December 2024 to publish the investigation into the former congressman from Florida, CNN reports. Insiders told the publication that the report on Gaetz is expected after the last day of voting in the House at the end of 2024.

Find out what is presumably contained in Gaetz’s ethics report below.

Earlier, Gaetz was accused of having sex with a 17-year-old girl and paying for her trips, as reported by The New York Times in 2021. Meanwhile, the age of consent in Florida is 18 years old. Gaetz categorically denied the accusations and discussed the report in an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight.

«I did not have a relationship with a 17-year-old girl», - Gaetz insisted. «It is absolutely false. The accusation I read in The New York Times is that I traveled with some 17-year-old in some relationship. That is false, and records will show that it is false. Providing airfare and hotel rooms for people you are dating who are of legal age is not a crime».

Gaetz continued: «People have talked about minors and there being photos of me with child prostitutes. That is obviously false. There will be no such photos because nothing like that ever happened».

The DOJ concluded its investigation into Gaetz. He was not charged with any crimes.

In December 2024, Gaetz again denied the accusations but admitted to «sending money to women» he had previously dated.

«The [House] Ethics Committee is expected to publish a report online, which I have no opportunity to discuss or refute as a former member of the body», - Gaetz wrote on Twitter, adding: «In my bachelor days, I often sent money to women I dated — even those I never met, but they asked. I dated several of these women for many years. I NEVER had sexual contact with anyone under 18. Any claim to the contrary would be destroyed in court — so no such claims were ever made in court».

I have not been charged with anything: COMPLETELY CLEARED. Not even a campaign law violation. And the people who investigated me hated me.

Then those same «witnesses» that the DOJ deemed unreliable were…

The House Ethics Committee report contains information from a years-long investigation into Gaetz’s behavior when he was a member of Congress, CNN reports. He resigned from his position at the end of 2024 after Donald Trump nominated him for the next Attorney General. Gaetz later withdrew his nomination.

The report contains information about the accusations Gaetz faces, including whether he showed inappropriate photos of women to members of the House, used illegal drugs, used campaign funds for personal purposes, and other allegations.

It is unclear whether Gaetz will return to Congress. Before the House voted to release the ethics report, several publications reported that it was possible
