Maura Higgins denies rumors of 'DWTS' rigging
Maura Higgins commented on rumors that the show «Dancing with the Stars» is allegedly rigged for her to win. In a recent episode of a YouTube show, the finalist of Season 34, Elix Earl, noted that the press has been actively discussing the rumor that «Dancing with the Stars» is «set up for her victory». She admitted that she was «very tempted» to comment on this, adding, «Oh my God, so I don’t have to learn to dance?»

However, Higgins decided not to respond to these accusations. She joked, «Don't give in to this, Maura, because that’s what you do». At the same time, she expressed hope that the rumors are true.

Throughout the first four weeks of the show, Higgins consistently ranked at the top, performing alongside her «Traitors» partner, Mark Ballas. During the live broadcast on October 6, they received the first nine of the season for their waltz to Mariah Carey’s «If It’s Over», - which was a significant achievement for her. Higgins noted that she has to work hard, as dancing does not come easily to her, and praised her partner for his patience and support.

She also shared that she was shocked by the positive feedback on her performance, adding that she did not expect such success and believes that many other contestants deserve high scores. Higgins revealed that before the competition began, she felt insecure, but Ballas helped her overcome this with «positive self-affirmation».

The show «Dancing with the Stars» airs on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
