Maura Higgins, a contestant on «Dancing with the Stars», - admitted that she still has doubts about her dancing abilities. In an interview with Us Weekly after her performance on Yacht Rock Night on September 29, she noted, «I know I’m doing everything well, but I still think: will I be able to handle it next week?»
In the latest episode of the show, Higgins and her partner, professional dancer Mark Ballas, performed a quickstep to George Benson’s «Turn Your Love Around» and received 22 points out of 30 from the judges, placing them in the upper half of the leaderboard. Higgins shared that this week was easier for her, and she didn’t feel the previous stress: «I even sang along to the music while doing the steps».
Higgins, previously known for her participation in «The Traitors» and «Love Island», - emphasized that her success in dancing is largely due to her partner’s talent: «I'm not good at dancing. I’m good because of Mark, who is a phenomenal teacher». Ballas, who has won the Mirrorball Trophy in various seasons, noted that Higgins has great potential and is showing improvements in coordination and musicality.
Despite the progress, Ballas added that Higgins and the other contestants still have a lot of work ahead, as they are only in the third week of the show. «This is an art that takes years. We’re still in the early stages», - he said. «Dancing with the Stars» airs on ABC on Tuesdays at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, and past episodes are available for streaming on Disney+.
