Mike Tyson and Jake Paul hadn’t even started their long-awaited fight, but they still managed to clash. During the weigh-in procedure on Thursday, November 14, Tyson, 58, and Paul, 27, briefly stood face to face on stage. Tyson slapped Paul, and his team had to stop him to prevent the tension from escalating.

When the host asked Tyson why he hit Paul, Tyson did not answer the question and walked away. His younger opponent, however, was questioned about the fight and stated that he «didn't even feel» the slap.

«He's angry», - Paul told the audience. «He's an angry little elf. Mike Tyson, I thought it was a cute little slap, buddy, but tomorrow you’re getting the full treatment».

Paul then shouted that he would «take him down» and claimed that Tyson «hits like a girl».

«Now it’s personal!» he yelled. «He must die».

Afterwards, Paul jokingly tweeted: «This is the moment when you need to pinch yourself. Mike Tyson pinched me», - adding a happy hugging face emoji.

The show is set to be broadcast live on Netflix on Friday, November 15, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. The two fighters, known as «Iron Mike» and «Problem Child», - were originally supposed to face off on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Two months ago, Tyson had a stomach ulcer flare-up during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

Most Valuable Promotions released a statement about the incident, postponing the event to a later date.

«Following a subsequent consultation on Thursday with medical specialists regarding his recent ulcer flare-up, the recommendation for Mike Tyson is to engage in minimal or light workouts over the next few weeks, and then return to full workouts without restrictions», - MVP explained, noting that «both Mike and Jake agree that it is fair to provide equal training time to both athletes to prepare for this important match and compete at the highest level».

MVP added: «We fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow himself to perform at the level he expects from himself».

Tyson shared an update with his social media followers after the fight was postponed. In May, he tweeted: «Feeling 100 percent now, although I don’t need to be to beat Jake Paul»
