The athlete’s representatives provided a statement to various sources, noting that Mike «felt nauseous and dizzy due to a peptic ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing» and that the boxer «is grateful for the medical personnel who were there to help him».
According to In Touch, an eyewitness described what happened during the flight, noting that there was «some sort of medical incident on board the plane, and medics arrived on board».
«Before the medics arrived, there was an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even appeared on all screens», - the eyewitness added. «[The flight attendant] said something like, 'He's a very important passenger, so we want to make sure he’s okay.' I knew it was him, but just whispered 'Mike Tyson,' and she nodded 'yes'».
