Before Trump, Waltz worked in the White House. The Republican previously served in the administration of George W. Bush, working as Director of Defense Policy at the Pentagon and as a counterterrorism advisor to Dick Cheney.
A former US Representative for Florida’s 6th congressional district, Waltz became the first Army Special Forces soldier elected to Congress. He completed multiple combat tours in Afghanistan, Africa, and the Middle East.
Waltz is also a published author, having written the following books: «Warrior-Diplomat: Green Beret Battles from Washington to Afghanistan», - «Dawn of the Brave», - and «Hard Truths: Think and Act Like a Green Beret».
