Michael Douglas talks about his romances in new book

Michael Douglas revealed details about his romantic relationships spanning four decades in his autobiography «One Helluva Ride». In the book, the actor confirmed that he had short-term romances with several well-known actresses, including Kathleen Turner and Jeanne Tripplehorn, while he was married to Diandra Luker.
Douglas was married to Luker from 1977 to 1995, and their divorce was finalized in 2000. In his book, he shared that during the filming of «Romancing the Stone» in 1984, he began a relationship with Turner, which they both denied for a long time. Douglas noted that their romance started on set but ended after Luker brought their five-year-old son Cameron to the filming and spoke with Turner about the state of their marriage.
As for Jeanne Tripplehorn, Douglas dismissed rumors of an affair with Sharon Stone, stating that he actually had feelings for Tripplehorn during the filming of «Basic Instinct» in 1992. He admitted that he was ready to leave Luker for Tripplehorn, but their relationship ended with the completion of filming.
Douglas also recounted his meeting with Catherine Zeta-Jones at the Deauville Film Festival in August 1998. He proposed to her on New Year’s Eve in 1999, and their wedding took place in November of the same year in New York City. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in November 2025, despite challenges such as Douglas’s throat cancer diagnosis in 2010 and his wife’s treatment for bipolar disorder in 2011.
