Maya Hawk: «Childfree» is not a problem, it’s a blessing!

Maya Hawke has no problem being called «Hollywood royalty» despite the criticism that comes with the title. The 25-year-old daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman explained how she feels about the viral nickname given to the children of the most famous figures in Hollywood.
«'Deserving' is a complicated word», - Maya told The Times UK in a recent interview. «There are so many people who deserve to have such a life but don’t, but I think I’m comfortable with not deserving it and still having it. … It’s normal to be laughed at when you’re in rarefied air. It’s a lucky place. My relationships with my parents are really honest and positive, and that outweighs anything anyone can say about it».
While she feels «lucky» to have a career in show business, Maya noted that she «saw two paths when [she] started out, and one of them was: change your name, get a nose job, and go on open auditions».
Maya recently starred in the film «Maestro» and previously appeared in her father’s film «Blaze», - in which she played the lead role, Flannery O’Connor. 53-year-old Ethan directed the biographical drama. In addition to her acting career, Maya is also a musician, having released three albums so far.
In addition to Maya, Ethan and Uma, 54, also raise their son Levon together.
This is not the first time Maya has opened up about her family ties. Last year, during the promotion of «Blaze», - Maya and her father discussed the «codependency» she felt while working with him on set.
