Showrunner Meg Marinis announced this in an interview with Deadline following the premiere of the 23rd season, which took place on October 15. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with franchise creator Shonda Rhimes and noted that the process of developing the new show has been a valuable experience for her.
While details about the spin-off have not yet been revealed, it is known that it will be located in West Texas. Meg Marinis emphasized that casting is not yet complete, but new characters may be introduced in one of the episodes of «Grey's Anatomy».
