Melody Hansen: Swiss artist whose work inspires millions

Melody Hansen is a Swiss graphic designer and artist whose work has resonated with a wide audience for many years, from Doutzen Kroes and Jennifer Garner to rap artists GoldLink and grouptherapy. Melody’s art embodies the complexities of the human experience, sometimes those parts of yourself that you are too ashamed to show, through simple yet powerful designs.
In a rapidly changing world of digital media and artificial intelligence, Melody Hansen remains true to her handcrafted artistry. It is her textures, her femininity and sensitivity to emotions, and her mistakes that intimately connect her with her fans. Her distinctive handwriting and hand-drawn illustrations, which initially captured the hearts of her community on Instagram and Tumblr, have found a special place in the music industry.
Her latest project includes collaborations with actors Koy Stewart, Jadagrace, and Tyrell Jackson Williams for their album «I Was Mature for My Age, But I Was Still a Child». The album explores the collective experience of a group coming of age in the entertainment industry. «I wanted the album cover to reflect the feeling of observation, a narrative where these children are under the watchful eye of adults», - she shares. With a cover that seems almost touchable, Melody Hansen works with her sister Gabriela Hansen to create visual images that invite intimate connections between artists and their listeners. Projects also include collaborations between Scott Hoying of Pentatonix and the girl group Citizen Queen.
Born in a small town in Switzerland, Melody immigrated to South Florida with her family at the age of eight. Growing up, she struggled to find her place, moving between Switzerland, the USA, and Canada. Instead, she relied on her imagination to build a world where she could fit in.
Today, the Swiss artist resides in the heart of the original Walt Disney studio district in Los Feliz, Los Angeles. Inspired by past legends such as Walt Disney, who advocated for creative innovation and intentional art and culture, Melody takes pride in calling Los Angeles her home, a city whose love for storytelling invites her to believe that with a little imagination, anything is possible.
