Matthew Rhys and other stars visited the Emmy portrait studio
At the 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony, winners and hosts had the opportunity to create striking portraits in a special photo studio designed in the style of a 1920s speakeasy. Photographer Robert Ascroft, who has been responsible for creating this studio for the past ten years, collaborated with producer Rob Fidler from Big Time to develop a dramatic backdrop for the shoots.

Ascroft noted that he wanted to create an atmosphere that was «dark, rich, elegant, and elevated», - and according to him, he succeeded. Stars such as Matthew Rhys, Rhea Seehorn, Noah Wyle, Sally Field, and Emmy Rossum visited the studio. Ascroft added that almost everyone who entered the studio said, «This is so cool».

A particularly memorable moment occurred when Tom Pelphrey, who came with his fiancée Kaley Cuoco, expressed surprise, suggesting that he «feels like he’s on an acid trip». The new issue of Emmy magazine will be available starting October 13.
