Machine Gun Kelly opens up about his journey to sobriety.

During an appearance on the Dumb Blonde Bunnie Xo podcast on Monday, August 5th, musician 'Emo Girl' candidly discussed his struggles with mental health and alcohol abuse, revealing that he is now «completely sober from everything».

«I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t had a drink since last August», - he said.

After his 2023 European tour, the 34-year-old artist shared that he went to rehab — and few people knew about it.

«I didn’t tell anyone except close people, but I went to rehab right after the end of our European tour last year», - explained MGK, whose real name is Colson Baker. «It was my first time in rehab, and they gave me a lot of ways to manage my body and showed me where the anger was coming from and methods to eliminate it. I started to understand what my condition was and accepted it. It’s a constant tightrope walk».

«You're holding onto it», - said Bunnie, who appeared in the rapper’s music video 'Lonely Road' with her husband, Jelly Roll, and Kelly’s fiancée, Megan Fox. «Because I really wanted you to have a drinking competition with my husband, and you said, 'No, I’m sober'».

MGK said that he used to abuse alcohol, marijuana, and pills like hydrocodone, Percocet, and Vivance.

Further discussing his journey to sobriety, Kelly admitted that Fox, 38, has been very helpful to him on this path. The couple, who started dating in 2020, have experienced ups and downs in their relationship since their engagement in 2022.

«Megan has definitely been extremely helpful in dealing with the psychological withdrawals that come with [sobriety]», - he shared.

He also touched on his relationship with his 15-year-old daughter, Casie Colson Baker, whom he shares with ex Emma Cannon, saying that it inspired him to become sober.

«You know, Casie, one of the biggest things that killed me about it was when she said, 'Dad, I know you’re a drug addict'», - MGK recalled. «It's like the ultimate disappointment in yourself. I continue to accept that this path will be difficult for me, but I accept it and forgive myself».

Now, a year after starting his journey to sobriety, the singer of 'I Think I’m OKAY' sees positive changes, while also praising those who have stood by him.

«It was a huge reward for me», - noted MGK, «and I express immense gratitude to everyone around me for never giving up on me until I reached this point, because I really hope that I have become much more pleasant to be around»
