Miley Cyrus was spotted on a rare date with her boyfriend, Max Morando, in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 31-year-old pop star was photographed with the 25-year-old Liily drummer at a Future Islands concert at the Shrine Auditorium. Their last public appearance was on August 31, when Cyrus attended Morando’s concert at the Roxy in West Hollywood.

Cyrus and Morando were first linked in July 2022 when they were seen together in Nashville, Tennessee, according to the Daily Mail. A report published on March 1, 2022 by Entertainment Tonight added that the couple had been dating for some time. «Miley likes that they as a couple keep a low profile and just focus on their work and being around people who make her happy, and Max does that», - the report said. The couple shared an intimate moment at Cyrus’s Grammy table on February 4, 2024, after she won her first two Grammys for the song «Flowers» — a song that was later the subject of a lawsuit for borrowing parts from Bruno Mars’s 2012 hit «When I Was Your Man».

Get to know Morando better!

«I'm Max Morando», - wrote the then 18-year-old Max for Modern Drummer in 2016. The musician said he had been playing drums since he was eight and joined the School of Rock in Hollywood. There he met some of his classmates, three of whom — Sage, Jenessa, and Lydia from Regrettes. My main influences are Phil Collins, Keith Moon, and Jack Bevan.

Although best known as a drummer, he also knows how to play guitar, as he demonstrated in a live Instagram broadcast in 2020.

Before joining the four-member rock band Liily from Los Angeles, Morando played drums in the punk rock band The Regrettes from 2015 to 2018. Morando met his classmates Lydia Night, Sage Chavis, and Jenessa Gariano while attending music school. The band released their debut EP «Hey!» in 2015, and then their debut album «Feel Your Feelings Fool!» in 2017.

«We're glad the amazing Mike Elizondo produced our album», - he told Modern Drummer at the time. «The recording process was a lot of fun and taught me so much. We recorded live, straight to tape, all in one room, all at the same time. I was very focused on getting the best result every time, as I couldn’t go back and re-record small parts. But because of that, I started to stress too much and didn’t play the way I wanted. After a few songs, I started to relax and just played as I would at a concert. It taught me to just play the drums the way I usually do, comfortably. It brought some really great recordings».

Morando left the band in 2018 after the release of their EP «Attention Seeker». He then teamed up with singer Dylan Nash, guitarist Sam De La Torre, and bassist Charlie Anastasis to create Liily. «We all knew each other and hung out in the same circle of friends», - he told Soundazed. «Some of us studied together, and some have known each other since we were seven». The band released their debut single «Toro» at the end of 2018.

Described as a «sharp, aggressive alt-rock combo from Los Angeles», - Liily continued to gain momentum in the following years. They released their debut album «TV or Not TV» in 2021.

In September 2021, Max shared a post from Miley on his Instagram story «Collaborated with @shane_kastl to create this look!» Max captioned the story. The question was about a colorful outfit. Miley wore white shorts and a jacket with colorful sleeves. Both items of her outfit were adorned with bright patterns.

In an interview for the cover of British Vogue, the singer «Adore You» told how she met fellow musician Max Morando.

«We were set up on a blind date», - said Cyrus. «Well, it was blind for me, not so much for him», - she clarified. «I thought, 'The worst that can happen is that I’ll leave.'»
