«Miranda Cosgrove wants to finish iCarly: hope for a return»
The hashtag «Save iCarly» went viral on social media after the reboot of the series was suddenly canceled last year. However, Nickelodeon fans should not lose hope — the star of the series and producer Miranda Cosgrove recently stated that she would like to properly «finish» the show in a new interview, appearing at a screening of her latest film «The Bridesmaid».

«Maybe, hopefully, someday we will actually do it», - — said Miranda to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, May 8. «I feel like, probably, it will be more in the form of, maybe, a movie that would somehow conclude all of this or something like that. So I hope for that».

As for how she felt returning to the role of Carly Shay, Miranda noted: «I had a great experience coming back and doing this for a few seasons, of course. But I would still like to somehow conclude the story».

The Nickelodeon reboot was released in 2021 and lasted for three seasons. In October 2023, Paramount+ released a shocking statement in response to strikes by SAG-AFTRA and WGA, in which actors and crew of iCarly were involved.

«iCarly will not return for a fourth season on Paramount+», - — said a representative in the statement. «The series had a great three-season run and gave fans what they really wanted to see — Carly and Freddie finally together. We want to thank the entire cast, writers, directors, and producers, as well as the entire crew for their dedication, creativity, and talent».

Fans expressed their disappointment online with the news. Many noted that not only is the fate of Carly and Freddie unknown, but they will also not find out who Carly’s mother is.

It is unclear why the network decided to cancel the show. However, Miranda remains positive about the issue. Earlier this year, she appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark and recalled seeing a child in a Target store who recognized her from iCarly.

«It's funny because there was a time when many little kids didn’t know who I was because [iCarly] wasn’t on for a long time. Then Netflix got the show, and they started showing old seasons», - she explained. «I was recently in Target, and there was a little boy who was just staring at me in the toy aisle. He kept looking at me. He was about 7 years old. I thought, 'Oh, maybe he watches the show!' And then he kept staring at me. I thought he was going to say he watched it. Instead, he said, 'You've aged!'»
