Miranda Cosgrove: stalking in 2016 continues to pursue her to this day

Miranda Cosgrove is still haunted by her incident with a stalker in 2016. The 30-year-old iCarly alum revealed in a new interview for Bustle, published on Friday, May 10, that she still doesn’t feel «very safe» in the house where her stalker set himself on fire and fatally shot himself in her backyard eight years ago.
«This is another reason why I often go to my parents' house», - Miranda explained. «I just don’t feel very safe in this house. For two years after the incident, I hardly stayed there. Then I started a relationship, and because this person was with me, I was less scared. But I don’t really like being there alone».
The former Nickelodeon star also noted that she met the woman who was shot by the stalker at the time. This unknown woman resembled Miranda and was driving past her house at the time of the incident.
«This girl came up to me and said, 'I didn’t know if I should say this here or how to say it, but I’m actually the girl who was shot at your house,'» Miranda recalled. «She seemed similar to me in the way she processed information. She said that the night before, she had broken up with her boyfriend and went to her friend’s house because she was in distress. When they brought her to the Hollywood police station to ask what he looked like and what happened, the detectives said, 'Start from the beginning. What happened?' And she said, 'Well, he broke up with me last night,' and started telling them about her breakup».
After turning 30 in 2023, Miranda set herself a «huge goal»: «To find a place where I will truly feel safe, to start a new chapter». However, the publication noted that she has not yet achieved this.
Elsewhere in her interview, the «Mother of the Bride» star opened up about how her clean image in society has affected her. Fans still compare the actress to her character from iCarly, Carly Shay.
«I still haven’t completely shed [Carly]», - she admitted. «Many people think that’s who I am. … Now that I’m older, it’s not as important to me. But there’s still a part of me that thinks it would be nice if people could see me in a different light»
