Miranda Derrick spoke out about receiving threats after the release of the Netflix documentary «Dancing with the Devil: TikTok Cult 7M» in a video on Instagram on Monday, June 10. The TikTok star’s parents and her sister Melanie Wilking were prominently featured in the documentary, which accuses the management company 7M of having ties to the controversial Shekinah Church. The film also contains allegations that Robert Shinn, the founder of the company and pastor of the church, is controlling. «Before this documentary, my husband and I felt safe. Now, with this documentary out, we feel that our lives are in danger», - Miranda began her statement.

The TikToker continued and described some of the harsher reactions they received after the release of the documentary, including threats of violence. «We were followed in cars. We received hate mail, death threats. People sent us messages urging us to commit suicide. We were stalked. Someone said, 'If I see you on the street, I will come and tear you apart. So you better ensure your safety.' Someone also said, 'If I see you walking on the sidewalk, I will come and put you in the trunk of my car,'» she said.

Miranda continued and explained that she also feels that the documentary has set her and her family back from the progress they had made in healing their relationships. «I have been meeting with my family privately over the past few years to work on our relationships, to correct mistakes, and I enjoyed it», - she said. «This documentary has made it very difficult to continue doing that, and honestly, I think my parents, my sister were so focused on this documentary that they forgot about working on relationships with me, and it hurts. It hurts me to say».

Despite the negative reaction, Miranda said she thinks she will return to her regular content in the near future. «I see light at the end of the tunnel, and I will return to posting, dancing, and doing what I love», - she said
